Forest Lakes was established in 1964 and was billed as the social getaway for Sarasota County with the grand opening of the Forest Lakes Country Club. Amenities included tennis courts, swimming pools, a 14,500 sq. ft. clubhouse and Forest Lakes golf course.

There are 401 single family homes under the FLCCE Voluntary Homeowners Association and 122 condominium Associates that surround the golf course. Although our HOA is voluntary, we have a very active Board of Directors and our cohesiveness gives us a strong voice in the community.

Mandatory deed restrictions ensure that our neighborhood maintains its character.

During our 50 years, our homeowners have experienced many transitions of the original establishment. The pools were filled in, the tennis courts were removed, the clubhouse was razed and the golf course saw its end in 2005.
